Parenthood Circle: Moms Working Outside the Home
Parenthood circles are for parents to deepen connections with each other as we continue to shape our identities and raise our children. In these circles parents with young children explore modern-day parenthood, parenting with consciousness and intention, and support each other while building confidence in ourselves.
If you are a mom who works outside the home please join us for this circle where we'll connect around working motherhood and everything that comes along with it - navigating a new identity, finding the right balance, creating and maintaining boundaries, and so much more. Mothers working outside the home (or inside the home!) don't receive much support from our culture, so we've created this community to support each other as we navigate parenting and working life.
The circles include hybrid meetings (attend in-person or on zoom), activities and articles in-between sessions, and impromptu weekend play dates. You can receive additional support in a private chat channel throughout the week.
Mom to a newborn? Join a Mamas Circle. Having your 2nd, 3rd (or more!) baby? You're welcome to join this circle or a Mamas Circle for Newly 2nd & 3rd Time Moms. Pregnant? Check out our Pregnancy Circle. Have older children? We'd love to have you in our Parents of Older Babies Circle (4-12 month olds) or a Parenthood Circle.

Parenthood Circle: Moms Working Outside the Home FAQ
Who can join?
We welcome ALL moms and embrace diversity in background, sexual orientation, age, race, religion, etc. This circle is specific to moms working outside the home. First-time, second-time or moms with many more children are welcome.
How many people will be in my circle? What will they be like?
The circle will have between 5-9 moms. Each is settling into parenting but still has lots of questions, want to parent with consciousness and intention, and be part of a community. Most moms work full-time outside the home but some work part-time outside the home as well. Most live within 20 minutes of Silver Spring, MD.
Where do we meet?
This circle will be offered in-person on a well-ventilated screen porch in Silver Spring, MD and will have a screen set up for those who would like to attend on zoom. Please note, we require participants to be fully vaccinated to attend in-person circles, otherwise you can join the circle via zoom. You can also join on zoom for any other reason.
What if I don't have someone else to look after my child(ren) during the circle?
Most participants come on their own. Young children are welcome to attend on a regular or occasional basis if needed. We don't provide separate childcare so children will be with us in the circle and you are welcome to bring toys, snacks, and other entertainment for them. We also completely understand interruptions on zoom - the mute button definitely comes in handy!
What if I need accommodations for a disability?
We strive to host circles that are inclusive, accessible spaces for all mama-identifying people, including those with disabilities, to engage in. If you have an accessibility need please mention it in the registration form and we'll follow up with you directly.
What do we talk about during the sessions?
In our weekly meetings everyone checks in and then we have a topic each week for discussion - topics include (but are not limited to) the many aspects of our identity, finding balance, changing relationships, division of labor, making sense of conflicting parenting advice, body image, the mental load of motherhood, reconnecting with ourselves, and so much more.
What makes the Parenthood Circle different from other moms groups?
Parenthood Circles are truly community-inspired! Moms are invited to come together to find and provide support, reflect on our own changing identities, and build our village. These circles allow moms to connect, explore our shifting identities, go deeper into how to navigate the changing relationships in our lives, and truly share with others who are in it with you.
Why should I join?
Modern-day parenting is exhausting and often lonely. We're here to bring back essential connections, talk about our under-valued role in society, and really be there for each other - in person!
Can I drop-in to one week or start mid-session?
We don't have drop-ins - each week we get to know each other a little better and share the details of our lives and it's not conducive to have moms just come for a meeting or two. The positive part of this is when everyone commits to the group it creates a really wonderful and supportive place to return to each week.
What if I am going to miss a week? Is there a way to make-up?
Due to the session/cohort model there are no make-ups.
What if I changed my mind? Can I get a refund?
Refunds (minus a processing fee) are available up to two weeks ahead of the start date. Cancellations made between two weeks and one week before the start of the circle receive a 50% refund. No refunds are available after one week prior to the start date.
Can I give the Parenthood Circle as a gift?
Absolutely! It's a wonderful alternative to more "stuff." Simply contact us and we'll provide you with a personalized gift certificate.
