Finding Your Center: Tools for Mothering with Calm & Connection
An 8-session therapy group for moms who want to feel more grounded, patient, and connected in their everyday lives — and in themselves.
Motherhood calls forth our deepest love — and sometimes, our hardest moments. When we’re tired, touched out, or triggered by our children’s behavior, even small moments can feel overwhelming. We may find ourselves snapping, shutting down, or feeling guilty afterward, wondering, “Why did I react like that?
|
Finding Your Center: Tools for Mothering with Calm & Connection is an 8-session therapy group designed to help moms understand what’s happening beneath those moments of reactivity and learn how to meet parenting challenges with more clarity, compassion, and presence. Through guided reflection, experiential practices, and open discussion, we’ll explore how our nervous systems, past experiences, and inner parts shape our reactions — and how to shift from knee-jerk patterns toward calm, connected responses to everyday parenting challenges. |
This group blends psychological education, nervous-system regulation skill-building, and guided reflection, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic models, neuroscience, child development, and mindfulness practices. Each session includes a balance of structured learning and open conversation so you can apply insights directly to your real-life parenting moments.

Reactivity isn’t about being a “bad mom” — it’s about an overloaded nervous system doing its best to protect you. When we learn to recognize our body’s stress signals, understand our personal triggers, and repair when things go off-track, we start to create real-time shifts in how we show up with our kids. This group will help you understand why you react the way you do (so you can interrupt old patterns), build tools for self-regulation and recovery after hard moments, experience support and solidarity with other mothers who truly get it, and strengthen your emotional connection — with yourself, your child, and other moms walking a similar path
|
Each 60-minute session includes:
- A brief grounding or mindfulness practice to arrive and settle
- Psychoeducation on topics like the nervous system, emotional regulation, how past experiences shape our parenting, and effective co-parenting,
- Reflective exercises to help you connect the concepts to your own experiences,
- Group discussion and support to normalize shared challenges and deepen insight, and
- Take-home tools (e.g., simple regulation tools, journaling prompts, or supportive scripts/mantras).

Finding Your Center FAQ
Who can join?
We welcome anyone who identifies as a mother into this group. ALL moms are welcome. We embrace diversity in background, sexual orientation, age, race, religion, etc.
How many moms will be in the group? What will they be like?
The group will have between 6-10 moms. They are looking for support around being overwhelmed and overstimulated, seeking to change generational patterns, and eager to find more calm and connection with their child(ren).
Where do we meet?
The group will be held virtually via video call. Participants may choose to meet up informally outside of group to deepen connections and foster friendships, playdates, and community.
Is this group covered by insurance?
This is a therapy group, which may be covered by some insurance providers as out of network mental health treatment. We can provide a "superbill" which you can submit to your insurance company for reimbursement, if that is an option with your plan.
What makes the Finding Your Center group different than other parent groups?
This group is led by a therapist and includes psychological education, nervous-system regulation skill-building, and guided reflection, drawing from evidence-based therapeutic models, neuroscience, child development, and mindfulness practices. Additionally, you'll be in a supportive space with peers where you can make connections and feel less alone in the challenges of parenting.
Why should I join?
Modern-day parenting is exhausting and often incredibly lonely, and many of us are triggered by our children due to past experience and general overwhelm. We're here to bring back essential connections, share resources, and be there for each other, as well as providing tools for personal growth.
Can I drop-in to one week or start mid-session?
We don't have drop-ins - each week we get to know each other a little better and share the details of our lives and it's not conducive to have parents just come for a session or two. The positive part of this is when everyone commits to the group it creates a really wonderful and supportive place to return to.
What if I am going to miss a week? Is there a way to make-up?
Due to the session/cohort model there are no make-ups.
What if I changed my mind? Can I get a refund?
Refunds (minus a processing fee) are available up to two weeks ahead of the start date. Cancellations made between two weeks and one week before the start of the group receive a 50% refund. No refunds are available after one week prior to the start date.
Can I give Finding Your Center as a gift?
Absolutely! It's a wonderful alternative to more "stuff." Simply contact us and we'll provide you with a personalized gift certificate.
